Direct Health is an ambassador for Dignity in Care and it’s something we are extremely passionate about. We have a number of Dignity Champions across the Organisation – including our Chief Executive Jonathan Vellacott – and our Organisation’s ethos is strongly underpinned by the principles of the 10 Point Dignity Challenge, as follows:
- We have a zero tolerance of all forms of abuse
- We support people with the same respect we would want for ourselves or a member of our family
- We treat each person as an individual by offering a personalised service
- We enable people to maintain the maximum possible level of independence, choice and control
- We listen and support people to express their needs and wants
- We respect people's right to privacy
- We ensure people feel able to make complaints about their service
- We engage with family members and Carers
- We assist people to maintain confidence and positive self-esteem
- We act to alleviate people's loneliness and isolation
In our most recent Quality Questionnaire 94% of our Service Users said they felt treated with respect, privacy & dignity at all times.
